Avocado, Basil, Jalapeno “Crema”

The secret is ALWAYS the sauce

You can take a meal from bland to grand with a simple sauce. I often make sauces and then freeze a good portion of it to stretch my efforts into multiple meals. This bright avocado “crema” as you could call it is dairy free and can be used in so many ways that I’ll share below!

Ingredients:

  • 1-1.5 avocado

  • 2-3 limes

  • 1 jalapeño sliced

  • Handful of basil

  • 2-3 tbsp water as needed

  • Salt to taste

    Method:

  • Blend and extra tbsp of water and lime juice as needed to thin out as you’d like.

  • Add salt to taste

  • This will stay in your fridge for about 4-5 days since the lime will help preserve the avocado.

I love using this cream on top of fish, with tacos, on toast with a poached egg, and as a base for tuna salad (this will take your tuna salad to the next level!)
