Easy Chocolate Bark

If you’re craving a sweet treat,

But don’t have much in the kitchen this will become your go-to! It takes no time and is highly flexible based on what you have on hand. Keep reading this and save it for when a craving hits.

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz chocolate dark (60% or more) chocolate chips. I love Hu Kitchen as they’re refined sugar free.

  • 3/4 cup total of nuts and/or broken up pretzels. I’d suggest 2-3 things at max so there’s not too much going on.

  • 1/4 cup dried fruits chopped small or shredded coconut

  • I recently did walnuts, pretzels, and shredded coconut and it was a GREAT combo.

  • Flakey sea salt

Method:

  • If roasting nuts, preheat oven to 350 degrees. While you wait for the oven to heat up prepare your other ingredients into little bowls so they’re easy to spread around.

  • Once the oven is ready, place a silpat (I prefer these over parchment paper as they’re reusable) on a baking sheet and roast the nuts for about 8 minutes until they’re starting to slightly brown. Make sure not to burn them.

  • Meanwhile, place chocolate chips in a small saucepan and melt them about 90%. Mix well and turn off heat.

  • Take the nuts out of the oven and roughly chop them. Then, slide them into a bowl.

  • The baking sheet should cool off pretty fast. While you wait for that carefully take off the silpat and wipe it clean (if using parchment paper, shake it off or use a fresh sheet).

  • Spread the chocolate over the lined sheet so it’s about 1/4 inch thick. It won’t cover your baking sheet.

  • Evenly spread all of your toppings around the chocolate - you can use your palm to lighly press them in. Sprinkle a generous amount of flakey sea salt all over it.

  • Place the sheet in your fridge to let the bark harden, at least 15 minutes.

  • When you’re ready to eat it break it up into chunks and enjoy! Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

I hope you enjoy this as much as we do! It’s fun to eat, easy to make, and keeps things interesting with what you have on hand. If you make this, be sure to tag me on Instagram @AshleyPattenPilates and/or comment below! I’d love to hear what combos you put together!

xx, Ashley
