Immune Boosting Honey, Lemon, Turmeric, and Ginger Tea Drops

Cold and flu season is upon us -

I’ve already had strep 2 times in the last two months! It’s not been fun to be on antibiotics. I threw these together a few weekends ago when I was on an immunity boosting kick in the kitchen. How we care for ourselves can make a big difference in if/how bad we get sick. These are great to keep in the freezer for anytime to throw in your tea - I love them in a ginger tea to really up the ginger flavor. They take about 5 minutes to make, pop them in the freezer and they are good to go. Keep reading for the how-to!

Ingredients:

  • 2 whole lemons

  • 2 large pieces of tumeric peeled

  • 3-4 medium/large pieces of ginger depending on how much ginger you like

  • 1/2 cup wild, raw honey

  • 1/2 cup water

Method:

  • Place everything in a blender for about a minute on high or until everything has fully broken down/blended. I have this Breville blender and it works great for highly dense foods like this!

  • Using a measuring glass pour the mixture into a silicone mold or ice cube tray - about 1oz each. Use the edge of a knife to scrape off the excess so they pop out of the molds clean.

  • If using a silicone tray, place a baking sheet under it to keep it steady and then set in the freezer for at least 2-4 hours.

  • Once completely frozen, pop them out and store in an air tight container in the freezer.

  • Save and use any time you’re making a cup of tea. Note they will leave some residue in your tea but that is OK and normal!

I hope you love these as much as I have! Earlier this week when my throat started to hurt I popped these in my tea and they were helpful! If you make these be sure to tag me on Instagram @AshleyPattenPilates and/or comment below!

xx, Ashley
